Rise Up

Rise Up

Rise Up empowers entrepreneurial people around the world to make meaningful strides towards a brighter future.

The projects we support are committed to positive social change, environmental sustainability, and lifting up communities that have been harmed by the social injustices of cannabis prohibition. As agents for change, we honor Bob Marley’s legacy by adding his beliefs and our voice to the conversation about cannabis. Beginning first and foremost with giving back to Jamaica, we will extend our support nationally and globally as we continue to grow.

GlobalGiving

Marley Natural has partnered with GlobalGiving, a non-profit organization that provides a worldwide crowdfunding platform for locally based charitable projects to support a collaborative vision of upliftment and transformation.

GlobalGiving makes it possible for non-profits from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe (and hundreds of countries in between) to access the tools, training, and support they need to be more effective in their missions and make our world a better place.

Through our partnership with GlobalGiving, Marley Natural seeks to support socially minded and environmentally conscious projects whose aim is to positively impact communities. The projects below are our first partnerships, we will extend our support nationally and globally as we continue to grow. For each project we help fund, you’re invited to join us in investing in a culture of inspiring causes that enact lasting change.

ORACABESSA BAY FISH SANCTUARY

The fish sanctuary is a project initiated by the Oracabessa Fishermen's Group whose primary focus is to protect and restore the community’s extremely valuable marine ecosystem.

Established in 1995, the Foundation was created to advocate for sustainable community development and clean, green environmental renewal. The fish sanctuary supports and improves the sustainable livelihoods of local fishermen through initiatives such as a designated "no fishing zone" designed to help replenish endangered fish stocks within the bay. In the past four years alone, there have been sizable increases in fish biomass and coral coverage, while algae has been significantly reduced, progress that reflects the substantial environmental benefits that are already being achieved through this important cause. A supporting snorkeling project seeks to raise income for the fish sanctuary to assist various programs, including reef protection, coral planting, and sea turtle monitoring.

GOLDEN VALLEY FARMER'S GROUP

Golden Valley seeks to support local bee farming, a sustainable and expanding enterprise that addresses the challenges of our changing climate while providing legitimate opportunities for economic growth.

Located in the parish of St. Thomas, traditionally known as a coffee and cocoa farming area, Golden Valley is dedicated to improving and uplifting the community through committed agricultural investment. The immediate goal is to build a food grade honey processing unit from a repurposed shipping container, enabling farmers to begin benefitting from local honey production and income opportunities right away. The long term vision is to provide agricultural training and business opportunities for young farmers and community members in the areas of harvesting, honey, and wax processing, as well as packaging, sales, and marketing. Golden Valley is dedicated to supporting the current farming community while providing genuine avenues of growth for future generations, including expansion into other bee-related product markets with both a local and international reach.
